UPDATE: The tank has been drained. Crews will pump out residual water and place a new clamp. The tank should be back in service tomorrow. Yukon pumps are working and the system should have water. Please contact the City if you continue to have water pressure problems.
Original Story: Four people were injured as they were working on a water tower located at 93rd and Rainbow in North Odessa.
The incident was caused by a failure of a fitting at the base of the tank, and a City crew was trying to fix it and when it broke loose.
The crew members were trapped and were rescued by OFR. There were no fatalities, crew members suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for observation.
There are some service interruptions but pressure should be back momentarily.
The City should be able to drain the tank completely without any additional service interruptions to customers.
