There will be free door prizes and lots of fun for all ages. This is a free event for the community. We have a limited supply of poles and supplies to give out to those that need them so please bring your own poles if you have them.
Activities
Kids Angler Education
Texas Parks and Wildlife and Odessa Parks & Recreation representatives will teach the basics of traditional fishing such as tying the hook onto the line, casting a spin casting reel, identifying fish and demonstrating how to be a safe and responsible angler.
Contests & Games
There are chances of winning prizes with our measuring competition. Split by ages groups, we will see who has the largest fish, and an overall largest fish. We will also have the smallest, longest and most unique fish.
No Fishing License Required for Ages Under 17
During the event, those 17 and older are required to have a fishing license to fish in the pond.
